Attorney Abbott joined Cohen Cleary as a law clerk in 2023 and within a few months quickly transitioned to an attorney role. Attorney Abbott’s practice focuses primarily on probate and estate matters.
Prior to Cohen Cleary, Attorney Abbott earned her Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Rhetoric and Communications in three years from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She then earned her Juris Doctorate degree and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in Dartmouth. During her time at UMass Law, Attorney Abbott encountered a variety of legal experiences, lending herself to different areas and types of law. As a first-year student, Attorney Abbott interned as a judicial clerk in the Fall River Superior Court and the New Bedford Superior Court, conducting legal research and drafting decisions on criminal matters under the guidance of Judge Yessayan. As a second-year law student, Attorney Abbott engaged in real estate law at a small law firm in New Bedford. Upon her final year at UMass Law, Attorney Abbott worked as a law clerk at the Law Firm of Shaw and Corcoran in Braintree MA, practicing family law and some estate planning. During her final year of law school, as a certified Rule 3.03 student, Attorney Abbott was able to actively prosecute criminal matters on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the guidance of the District Attorney’s Office.
Attorney Abbott was born and raised in Freetown, MA. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family, friends and her German Shepherd, Koda.
Attorney Abbott is licensed to practice law in the Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
