Erynn A. Hamel

Associate

Overview

Erynn A. Hamel is an Associate Attorney at Cohen Cleary, P.C., where her practice focuses primarily on family law and probate matters, while also encompassing a broad range of civil litigation and criminal defense matters. Erynn represents individuals and families navigating complex and emotionally sensitive legal issues, providing strategic advocacy, practical guidance, and client-focused representation tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

Education and Background:

Prior to joining Cohen Cleary, Erynn practiced at a general practice law firm where she represented clients in a broad range of matters, including civil litigation, family law, estate planning, criminal defense, land disputes, and landlord and tenant matters. Before becoming an attorney, she spent several years working as a paralegal and in various legal support roles, which provided her with extensive experience in case management, client communication, and litigation support. Her broad legal background allows her to approach cases with a well-rounded perspective and adapt to the unique challenges presented in each matter.

Erynn earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts School of Law, where she attended the evening program while balancing full-time professional responsibilities. During law school, she served as a class representative and as President of Parents Attending Law School, advocating for and supporting non-traditional law students balancing academic, professional, and family responsibilities.

During her undergraduate studies, Erynn participated in the Prison Exchange Inside-Out Program, an educational initiative in which college students and incarcerated students learn together in a collaborative classroom setting inside correctional facilities. Through the program, she studied criminal justice issues alongside incarcerated classmates, gaining valuable perspective on the justice system, rehabilitation, and the human impact of legal advocacy.

Personal Interests:

Erynn was raised in Freetown, Massachusetts, and has remained actively involved in local civic and community initiatives, including campaign leadership and public engagement efforts within her hometown community.

Outside of her practice, Erynn enjoys spending time with her sons, playing board games, exploring new restaurants and cuisines, and horseback riding. She is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also operates a small business focused on upcycled and vintage fashion.
