Overview
Attorney Kristin Smola is a valued member of Cohen Cleary, P.C., where she concentrates her practice on assisting families and individuals navigating sensitive, often complex matters within the Probate and Family Court. Kristin brings a practical, empathetic, and solutions‑oriented approach to cases involving guardianships, parental rights, family‑related disputes, and other matters that directly impact the well‑being of children and families.
Kristin’s legal career is shaped by a diverse professional background that enhances her work with clients. She initially practiced law in her father‑in‑law’s office and went on to successfully operate her own practice for several years. After stepping away from the legal field to work as a personal trainer, nutrition director, and fitness studio manager, Kristin returned to the practice of law and joined Cohen Cleary in 2021, first as a legal assistant and later transitioning to her current attorney role.
This varied experience allows Kristin to connect with clients on a personal level and understand the challenges they face when legal issues intersect with demanding family circumstances. As a parent of two young children, she brings both professional experience and personal insight to her advocacy. Kristin has attended countless court hearings and is known for her ability to guide clients through the often‑overwhelming process of advocating for themselves or their children in the court system.
Outside of her legal practice, Kristin enjoys baking, reading, exercising, and spending time with her family.
“Kristin was the epitome of professionalism. Her punctuality, attention to detail, and clear communication were the cornerstones of our interactions. She handled my case with the utmost care, ensuring that I was informed and understood every step.”
