Attorney Mistry-Patel joined Cohen Cleary as a law clerk in 2024 and within a few months quickly transitioned to an associate attorney role.
Prior to Cohen Cleary, Attorney Mistry-Patel earned her Honors Bachelor of Science in Population Health Studies and Sociology from the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus. She then earned her Paralegal diploma from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology and began working at a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Toronto, Ontario. After three and a half years, Attorney Mistry-Patel decided it was finally time to pursue her dream of going to law school.
Attorney Mistry-Patel earned her Juris Doctorate degree and graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in Dartmouth. During her time at UMass Law, Attorney Mistry-Patel was actively engaged with the law school community as an Academic Fellow and as a leader of the Legal Association of Women. She was also able to pursue several hands-on professional experiences to develop and hone her legal skills. During the summer of her first year of law school, Attorney Mistry-Patel interned with Justice Bridge Legal Center, conducting intakes for new clients and triaging their legal issues. In her second year, Attorney Mistry-Patel worked as a law clerk at Cohen Cleary, P.C., conducting legal research and drafting memorandums in various areas of law. During the summer of her second year, Attorney Mistry-Patel worked as a Legal Extern with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights. During her final year at UMass Law, Attorney Mistry-Patel interned at Health Law Advocates with their Mental Health Advocacy Program for Kids, where she provided limited legal representation to students with disabilities facing school disciplinary issues and drafted hearing requests for the Bureau of Special Education Appeals. Upon her graduation from UMass Law, Attorney Mistry-Patel received the Leader for Justice Award for performing more than 200 hours of pro bono service.
Attorney Mistry-Patel was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In her downtime, Attorney Mistry-Patel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, and travelling.
Attorney Mistry-Patel is licensed to practice law in the Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
